     主要从事物理海洋和海洋遥感方面的研究,近期主要成果包括:用卫星高度计和散射计数据检验了经典地转涡流理论,发现并解释了全球海洋中不符合经典理论预测的区域;发现了去除卫星高度计仪器噪音影响的方法,从而解决了卫星高度计观测中长期存在的“速度功率谱蓝移”的问题;发现海洋中高频信号的混叠效应对高度计观测中尺度过程的影响,并提出了有效的解决方法;提供了海盆水体本征震荡的证据;在研究中尺度海洋垂直耦合过程中引入典型相关分析方法,并因此发现了海洋上层和深层中尺度涡的相互作用现象;发展了一套降低气候模式系统误差引起的偏差的方法,改善了预测未来极端天气事件变化的能力;揭示了海洋表面和海底能量影响海洋内部混合的穿透深度;用Argo浮标结合卫星观测揭示了北太平洋经向热输运;发现海流中的 Coriolis-Stokes 效应,改善了用卫星观测反演流的精度。 发展了估算海洋底部动能耗散的方法,并估算了这一海洋基本量。以上成果发表在 JPOJGRGRLOcean ModelingDSRClimatic ChangeJtech 等国际期刊。
